At Figure Eight Projects, we provide landscape design in Nanaimo for homeowners looking to create thoughtful, functional outdoor spaces. Concept
At initial consultation, we work through a design questionnaire together to get an idea of what your dream outdoor space looks like; as well as your goals, lifestyle, and budget.
Initial Design
We generate concepts and ideas from our initial consultation. We work the style, theme, and flow into a plan using computer-aided techniques and design principles.
Finalization
If needed, you make revisions and we agree on a final design together.
Specifications for the plan are finalized.
Installation
We expertly turn plan into reality with the final installation.
What a design consultation looks like:
We start by walking the property with you to understand what you want from the space and what is already there. Then, we look at sun, shade, soil, drainage, grades, existing trees, access and surrounding features before developing the overall layout.
Patios, pathways, gardens, retaining walls, trees and other landscape elements are all considered, so the finished space feels connected rather than pieced together.
We then work through materials, planting and the construction details needed to turn the design into a finished landscape.
Designed to Be Built
Our designs are grounded in an understanding of plants, soils, trees and construction. With a background in horticulture, landscape construction and permaculture design, we look at the property as a whole. That might mean choosing plants that are better suited to a dry Nanaimo summer, working with existing trees, improving drainage, creating pollinator habitats, incorporating a rain garden, or simply making better use of the space you already have.
